I was honoured to moderate a Women’s Executive Network panel about finance and even more honoured that they profiled me for the Financial Post.

Here’s the write-up in my most favourite newspaper:

Starting out or starting over: how to handle personal finance

“Personal finance is about people,” says Melissa Leong, Personal Finance Journalist at the Financial Post and money expert on CTV’s The Social.

Although she’s written for almost every news section, Melissa chose to focus primarily on personal finance because she feels strongly about the power of personal finance to make an impact on her readers. “Everything in life can be connected to personal finance—home, travel, marriage, child-rearing, retirement,” she says. “I got into journalism as a starry-eyed 19-year-old wanting to change the world. I still want to help people shape their best lives. And educating people on how to get a handle of their finances achieves that.”
